We were already lucky enough to live in Hawaii but even more lucky for Hawaii giving more aloha love to our keikis. Thank you Kapiolani Hospital for giving us complimentary tickets to Sea Life Park, Waimanalo, HI.
We got to explore numerous kinds of sharks in the Shark Cave as we first walked in; Hammerhead, White Tips, Black Tips, and Sand Bar Sharks. We also discovered they eat lettuce, which is very interesting.
As we passed the Shark Cave, we discovered so many cute honus (turtles in Hawaiian). I’m actually falling in love with honus here since the boys and I are used to swimming with them every time we’re at the lagoons.
We discovered two play areas for toddlers to enjoy and resting areas for parents to watch their kids play.
The boys had so much fun feeding the birds, petting the honu (turtle in Hawaiian), touching our sea life friends like sea urchins, star fish, and sting rays. We watched dolphins perform and learned there are plenty types of penguins. Oh, the best part is that we discovered the park had Pink’s Hotdogs! Like OMG, hallelujah, right?! It took me back to being in Hollywood for a moment! And of course, we ate there. =)
After we grubbed, we checked out the birds. It was our favorite part of the park. We fed, held, got pooped on…we wanted to stay in there forever to feed the birds.
Lastly, we learned the difference between a sea lion and a seal from a Sea Lion show we watched. One of the difference is that a sea lion has ears and a seal doesn’t. How cool is that?
After the sea lion show we were all tired and headed back home through a scenic route, well of course anywhere you drive in Hawaii is a scenic route. We passed the Makapuu Light House, Hawaii Kai, Kahala, and back on the H1 freeway. The boys were knocked out. We had a blast experience and we learned a lot. I just requested another family fun day there for next month. Can’t wait to go again!
Overall, if you’re ever out in Oahu and if you have kids or if you just love the marine life, Sea Life Park is the place to be. I actually like coming here rather than going to Honolulu Zoo since Sea Life Park has more interactive fun activities for the entire family.
Do you have a favorite family spot? Please sure, I love to try new cool spots.
Until next time.
